Superheaters

A superheater is a component of the boiler used to further heat the steam in the boiler from the saturation temperature to the superheat temperature.

Superheaters are divided into conventional, radiative and semi-radiative types based on mode of heat transfer, and into serpentine tube, screen and wall types based on structural characteristics.

They all consist of a number of parallel tubes and inlet/outlet boxes.

Features

Superheaters, a key device for improving boiler efficiency and steam quality, works by heating water to a supersaturated state and producing superheated steam. The device is placed at the water side and steam side in the boiler and utilizes fuel heat to heat water to boil and generate steam. It is densely packed with tubes inside, and through the principle of counter-current heat transfer, the cooling water and hot steam are efficiently converted to generate high-temperature and high-pressure steam, a process with excellent heat transfer and reduced piping pressure loss.
